To those who battle an eating disorder those three little words can break a person. Tonight we have the privilege of hosting Breaking Bread. Breaking Stigma. An event run by Hopewell Ottawa to bring awareness, tools and resources to individuals who struggle with an eating disorder as well as their friends and families.
Chefs from all over the city came together to compete for the title. Flora Hall Brewing joined to sponsor the event with their locally made beers and Lucky Ron preformed for the crowd.
Chef T, a private chef and BBQ master won the title of Sandwich Sovereign and Luis Guerra of Torta Boyz won the People's Choice Award!

Our own chef, Jef Charlebois competed with his tomato braised beef short rib on a fresh house-made pesto bun with roasted garlic aioli, aged parmesan cheese, and fresh corn basil.
Don’t worry, we had to google the words too. It tastes amazing though.
Think of a meatball sub but fancy.
Vegans, don’t worry we thought of you too! He designed a lentil meatball sandwich on a vegan pesto bun.
The event raised $55,000 said Jeff Bond, the executive director of Hopewell Eating Disorders Support Centre.
