As the days grow colder, our High Tea at Laurier House is taking a cozy winter pause.
High Tea will resume in May or June, as the gardens bloom and the weather warms. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another season.

High Tea at Laurier House
Join us every Friday this summer for High Tea on the veranda at Laurier House. Seating times at 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 2:30pm with a traditional High Tea menu prepared by the bakery at Working Title, priced at $68 per guest.

What is included in the High Tea experience?
Your ticket includes a full high tea service with sweets and savouries.

Do you offer gluten-free options?
Yes, gluten-free options are available by request only, with at least one week’s notice.
Please note:
- All baked goods, including gluten-free items, are prepared in the same kitchen.
- We cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free environment.
- Guests with severe sensitivities or celiac disease should take this into consideration.
What are the seating times?
There are three seatings each day at 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM.
Where is Laurier House and why is it special?
Laurier House is located in the heart of Ottawa, at 335 Laurier Avenue East. This National Historic Site was once home to two of Canada’s most influential Prime Ministers — Sir Wilfrid Laurier and William Lyon Mackenzie King.
The house offers a rare glimpse into Canada’s political and social history, filled with original furnishings, personal artifacts, and the charm of early 20th-century architecture. Visitors can explore the rooms where key national decisions were made and enjoy the elegance of a bygone era.
Is parking available?
Please note that we do not provide dedicated parking.
What if there are no available slots? Can I join a waitlist?
Yes! You can add yourself to the waitlist directly on the High Tea reservation page:
- Scroll down to the Libro reservation system.
- Select your desired date.
- If no seats are available, click “Request to be notified if a spot becomes available for [your date]”.
- Fill out your information.
You will receive a notification if a spot opens due to a cancellation.
Do you accommodate vegan diets or severe allergies?
We cannot accommodate:
- Vegan diets
- Egg allergies
- Dairy allergies
Please include all dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences when making your reservation so we can do our best to assist with your request.
Do you have accessible entrance?
Yes!
When booking, please include a note in your reservation so we can be prepared to assist you.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes! Walk-ins are accepted only if a table is available. However, due to the high demand for High Tea, we strongly recommend making a reservation in advance.
We cannot guarantee seating for walk-ins.
Can we be seated earlier if we arrive before our reservation time
No. Guests will be seated only at their reserved seating time.
If you arrive early, we kindly ask that you wait until your scheduled seating begins.
Do I need to provide a credit card to book, and will I be charged?
Yes, a credit card is required to secure your reservation. No charge or hold will be placed at the time of booking. However, if you cancel less than 2 days before your reservation or do not show up, a fee of $20 per guest will be charged. If you are using an AMEX card, a temporary $1 authorization may appear as part of the verification process, but this amount will not be charged to your card.
